OREANDA-NEWS Roskomnadzor did not impose any restrictions on YouTube video hosting, the agency's press service told TASS. Platform traffic in Russia is not limited.
"Roskomnadzor has not taken restrictive measures against YouTube. The traffic of this service in Russia is not limited," the press service said.
Earlier, 14News reported, citing a source in the administration of the department for Yakutia, that Roskomnadzor began to slow down YouTube traffic.
Earlier it became known that YouTube removed more than 70 thousand videos and blocked 9 thousand channels, the authors of which talked about the events in Ukraine. The main reason for the restrictions was the violation of content requirements.
Roskomnadzor earlier demanded that Google immediately remove restrictions from the channels of the Russian regional branches of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company on YouTube. The department stressed that they consider it unacceptable to block Russian state media, such as the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Stavropol, Krasnodar, Bashkortostan, Novosibirsk, Kuzbass and Vainakh of the Chechen Republic.
