OREANDA-NEWS. Passports were returned to a group of Russian travelers detained in the Republic of Chad, four people are flying home in a few hours, one of the group members, Alexei Kamerzanov, said on his VKontakte page.

A group of ten travelers (nine Russians and one Lithuanian citizen), including video blogger Alexei Kamerzanov and administrator of the Novosibirsk public "AST-54" in the social network "VKontakte" Vitaly Polishchuk, announced on June 15 that she was detained in Chad. From the dangerous zone in the north of the country, they, having seized their passports and equipment, were taken on a military plane to the capital of the republic, the city of N'Djamena, where they lived for more than a week at the La Residence Hotel N'Djamena.

"Freedom! We got our passports back! Now we can move without restrictions! Four of our participants leave in three hours. The owners of the cars remain. Now we need to decide how to transport the car to N'Djamena. We are working on this," Kamerzanov said.

Earlier, Charge d'Affaires of the Russian Federation in Chad Sergei Kramarenko said that the Russian Embassy in Chad received an apology note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic in connection with the detention of Russian travelers. The Chadian authorities have promised to return the confiscated personal belongings and documents to them in the near future.
