OREANDA-NEWS Megafon has fulfilled the order of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia to cancel the mark-up for communications in Crimea and Sevastopol, the company will cancel roaming until February 28, 2025, the department said.

At the end of October, the service ordered MTS and Megafon operators to stop charging additional fees to subscribers in Crimea.

Megafon fulfilled the order of the FAS of Russia. ... The mobile operator has submitted to the FAS of Russia a letter on the execution of the order to cancel the surcharge for using communication services in Crimea and Sevastopol. ... The company will cancel roaming no later than February 28, 2025," the message says.

It is noted that the agency considered the implementation period technically conditional.

They explained that during the subscribers' stay in the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, minutes, SMS and gigabytes will be spent from the package or paid according to the standard terms of the tariff plan.

The agency recalled that earlier, in October, a similar instruction was fulfilled by the mobile operator T2 Mobile, and Beeline announced the voluntary cancellation of the mark-up and bringing tariffs to the level of the home region from January 1, 2025, therefore, the operator was not issued an instruction.
