OREANDA-NEWS. The Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoygu said that in the Central Military District check of armed forces began. Also forces of the Southern and East military districts will be partially involved in special unplanned exercises.

Exercises will help to define ability of troops to ensure safety of the Central Asian region. Command will be able to estimate extent of training of staff for large-scale maneuvers "Center-2019".

The period of conducting unscheduled inspection of combat readiness is determined from June 24 to June 28. More than on 50 platforms drills will be staged. About 35 groups will participate in an action.

These drills are staged every four years. In the previous time they took place in 2015. This action – the main check of combat readiness of the Russian army in the current year.
