Alexandra Reich Appointed CEO of Telenor Hungary
OREANDA-NEWS. “I am very pleased to welcome Alexandra Reich as CEO of Telenor Hungary and part of my management team. Her understanding of customers’ digital ambitions, her in-depth knowledge of the telecoms industry and her entrepreneurial drive makes me confident that she is a great addition to our team and will continue to take our Hungarian business forward,” said Sigve Brekke, President and CEO of Telenor Group.
Reich, born in 1963 and an Austrian national, has served as EVP and Head of Mobile Business for Swisscom Enterprise since 2014, after joining the Swiss company in 2009. Having initially started her career in investment banking, Reich became a pioneer in the online business with her first own digital business start-up in 1986. In 2001, Reich joined the telecommunications industry, holding roles at VIAG Interkom, General Manager of T-Online Austria, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at 3G Hutchison Austria and COO for private customers at Sunrise in Zurich. Reich holds a Business Management Degree from Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration in Austria.
“I have always closely followed the Telenor Group with great respect and was impressed by the innovation power and culture driving the company. After many years in telco, working with challengers in Germany, Austria and seven years with the Swiss incumbent, I felt it was time to take this exciting opportunity. My expertise has always been in Marketing & Sales and within the last years I have learned a lot about customer experience design and the power of customer centricity, especially in the digital world. I am very much looking forward to working with the team in Hungary and also being part of the Telenor Group,” said Alexandra Reich.
Christopher Laska has been appointed Senior Vice President (SVP) Board Governance and Partner Relations Asia and will support the Board of Directors in Telenor’s Asian business units. Laska has served as CEO of Telenor Hungary since January 2011 and has previously been CEO of Telenor Montenegro and Head of Corporate Affairs in Telenor Serbia.
“I would like to thank Christopher for the past five years at the helm of Telenor Hungary. During this period Telenor Hungary not only introduced its state-of-the art 4G “Hipernet” network, it also launched successful online entertainment and financial services, such as MyTV, Deezer and Telenor Wallet,” said Brekke.
Telenor Hungary is the country’s second largest mobile operator with a market share of approximately 30 per cent, 3.2 million mobile subscriptions and more than 1,000 employees (figures as of Q2 2016).
