Amino secures first contract win for FUSION IoT solution at Alliance Communications
OREANDA-NEWS. Amino, leader in hybrid TV and cloud solutions, has secured a first contract win for its "Internet of Things"(IoT) FUSION cloud-based home management solution with North American fibre-to-the-home network operator Alliance Communications.
Alliance Communications provides Internet, cable TV and telephone services to portions of South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa and has recently extended its fibre network reach as part of its expansion plans.
The company will deploy FUSION Home Monitor - a simple, consumer self-install Wi-Fi device that offers a cloud-based subscriber management system and companion operator-branded mobile and web applications. As part of Amino's FUSION end-to-end IoT platform, it also offers local DVR and cloud video recording options to allow operators to customize subscription models that best fit consumer needs.
"We are a growing company with customers who expect high-quality service with a local touch," said Ross Petrick, general manager for Alliance Communications. "We anticipate FUSION Home Monitor will be easier to use and set up than other home monitoring options we have used and looked at in the past. Plus, the potential to use FUSION Home Monitor in conjunction with our video service and the option for cloud recording, and off network usage increases its value and usability."
FUSION Home Monitor was designed from the ground up specifically for operators - providing a converged service application that is deeply integrated across mobile, broadband and TV services.
"I'm delighted to announce this first contract win for our FUSION IoT solution. Whilst the monetary value of this initial contract is relatively modest, we are pleased with the progress we are making with the FUSION solution and this contract demonstrates the demand for this kind of service in our marketplace. " Amino CEO Donald McGarva said.
"At a time when operators are facing challenges with customer churn, the ability to offer new services that will help drive ARPU and retention is critical. Consumer demand for IoT devices and services is forecast to grow rapidly - and both broadband and multiplay operators can seize this opportunity to launch innovative and value-added solutions."
Alliance Communications is a cooperative headquartered in Garretson, S.D., and recently celebrated its 60th year of service operation.
