Tele2 has started providing services of high-speed wireless Internet in 4G standard in Nizhniy Novgorod
OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has started providing services of high-speed wireless Internet in 4G standard in Nizhniy Novgorod and eight more towns of the region. The LTE network is covering the territory where 61% of residents live.
The operator has launched the 4G network in Nizhniy Novgorod and in eight more residential areas of the region including Dzerzhinsk, Balakhna, Arzamas, Pavlovo, Kstov, Bor, Vyksa and Sarov. The LTE network of Tele2 is covering territories where over 2 mn people live.
The network in Nizhniy Novgorod is based on up-to-date and energy-efficient Nokia Networks units and is working in the 800 and 1800 MHz spectrum bands. To provide high-quality LTE coverage and increase the network capacity, the company’s technical employees carried out large-scale events on modernization of the backhaul. The maximum connection speed on the LTE-800 network reaches 30 Mbit/sec, whereas in the 1800 MHz frequency band it amounts to 60 Mbit/sec.
Prior to the launch of the 4G technology, the operator has developed a new tariff plan the “Infinite Black” with unlimited access to Internet. Tele2 is offering a range of bundle tariffs: “Black”, “Super Black”, “Ultra Black” and “Pitch Black” differ in volume of included minutes, SMS and Internet traffic.
Nizhniy Novgorod Region is the 24th region where Tele2 has launched the LTE network. High-speed wireless Internet in the 4G standard is already available to Tele2 subscribers in Moscow and Moscow Region, St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, in Chelyabinsk, Kemerovo, Orel, Novosibirsk, Rostov, Sverdlovsk, Tambov, Tula, Ulyanovsk and Voronezh regions, the Chuvash Republic, republics of Komi, Mordovia, Khakasia and Karelia, the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygeya, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area.
