Tele2 and the Information Technologies Directorate for the Altay Territory have sealed an agreement
OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, and the Information Technologies Directorate for the Altay Territory have sealed an agreement on cooperation in telecom development. By the end of the year, the operator is planning to invest 370 mn rubles into economy of the region.
The document has been signed by Tele2 Chief Operational Officer Dmitriy Lopatukhin and Yevgeniy Pozderin, head of the Information Technologies Directorate for the Altay Territory. The agreement implies a five-year cooperation between the parties. It is seeking to support economy of the Altay Territory and raise affordability of mobile services in the region. Besides, the cooperation will allow implementing a number of innovation projects targeted at the development of the region.
The investment program implies expansion of the operator’s network coverage on the territory of the region so that residents could use high-quality voice services and high-speed mobile Internet.
In September 2015, Tele2 started providing mobile service under its brand along with the launch of the 3G network. The company provides a stable 3G coverage on the territory where over 55% of local residents live, whereas 2G services are available to over 65% of the population. The main volume of Tele2 investment will be used to expand the network coverage and increase the 3G network capacity.
Dmitriy Lopatukhin, Chief Operational Officer at Tele2:

I am sure that implementation of measures listed in the agreement will let us satisfy the policy of residents in high-quality and affordable services and contribute to overall improvement of living standards in the region.”
Yevgeniy Pozderin, head of the Information Technologies Directorate for the Altay Territory:

That is one of the key tasks set by the Information Technologies Directorate for the Altay Territory and the administration. We are interested in effective cooperation on building up the state-of-the-art infrastructure. We are also taking considerable efforts to create favorable investment climate and competitive business environment in IT sphere. It implies development of long-term partnership with investors and cooperation in solving economic tasks.”
