Apple Computer Users are at Risk

OREANDA-NEWS. Apple has released security updates to two zero-day vulnerabilities for the latest macOS Monterey, forgetting previous versions of macOS Big Sur and Catalina, reports Intego.
According to Apple, the first vulnerability allows malicious applications to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges, while the second, found in Intel graphics drivers, could expose kernel memory.
Owners of Apple computers with the latest version of macOS Monterey are now safe, but the same cannot be said for those who still have macOS Big Sur or Catalina installed. At the same time, the company did not state that it plans to release corresponding updates for previous versions of macOS.
It is noted that Apple usually distributes security patches for the previous two versions of its operating system as well, because users do not always have time to upgrade to the latest versions of macOS.
Earlier, Gazeta.Ru said that Samsung users were urged to urgently update their smartphones due to the threat to personal data. Vulnerabilities affect smartphones running Android 9, 10, 11 and 12. The discovered security hole allows hackers to make phone calls, control applications, reset device settings, and access user data.
Kryptowire discovered the vulnerability in November 2021 and notified Samsung. The company released a hotfix in February 2022.
Kryptowire urges all users of vulnerable smartphones to update immediately to avoid becoming a victim of a hacker attack.
