OREANDA-NEWS  About 1800 small settlements in Russia will be connected to high-speed mobile Internet in 2023. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadaev during a meeting of the presidium of the United Russia faction in the State Duma on Tuesday.

"At the same time, it is very important that in small settlements it is necessary to develop the infrastructure of mobile Internet access. We have also started providing mobile internet access. 1800 (small settlements) will be connected next year," the minister said.

Now, according to Shadaev, 1.8 thousand small settlements have already been connected to 4G, another 1.7 thousand are being connected this year.

In addition, he recalled that in three years about 3.5 thousand settlements were connected as part of the program to eliminate digital inequality, and another 1.5 thousand - with the support of the regions. "There are only 5 thousand settlements where the Internet has come. People who live there have been given the opportunity to use high-speed access to the network," the head of the Ministry of Finance added.
