CalAmp Expands 4G LTE Cat1 Product Portfolio to Include Vanguard Routers for Industrial IoT and Commercial Applications
OREANDA-NEWS. CalAmp (NASDAQ: CAMP), a leading provider of wireless products, services and solutions, today announced that the Vanguard 400 and Vanguard 600 industrial-grade cellular routers are now available with 4G LTE Category 1 (Cat1) technology. The enhanced Vanguard routers combine next generation 4G LTE Cat1 cellular technology with 3G fallback to provide reliable and future-proof fixed asset monitoring and control. These powerful routers enable a broad range of applications such as Industrial IoT (IIoT), telemetry, intelligent traffic systems and remote site applications requiring reliable primary, temporary or back-up internet connectivity to maximize uptime and improve operational efficiencies.
The Vanguard 400 industrial serial router and Vanguard 600 industrial Ethernet router are purpose-built to deliver cost-effective, mission-critical connectivity for monitoring and controlling industrial fixed assets with commercial-grade security to protect against external threats. The new routers can help lower the total cost of ownership and future-proof IIoT technology investments by providing access to next generation 4G LTE Cat1 technology while also maintaining connectivity with 3G fallback as needed.
"We are excited to expand our portfolio of 4G LTE Cat1 telematics platforms to deliver intelligent, economical, next generation command and control applications to markets requiring more cost-effective, Industrial IoT solutions," said Justin Schmid, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Telematics Systems business at CalAmp. "With extensive configuration and custom application options, these powerful, easy-to-provision routers enable improved operational performance and provide the flexibility to adjust functionality based on the demands of rapidly evolving technologies in industrial and commercial markets."
The embedded Linux-based Open Developer Platform (ODP) allows customers to build intelligence into the Vanguard to support application-specific needs. The new routers also seamlessly integrate with DeviceOutlook™, CalAmp's cloud-based commercial-grade device management and control application, which supports over-the-air deployments and automated provisioning of custom configurations.
