OREANDA-NEWS The Serbian company Damar Tartufi, which specializes in the production of truffle-containing products, intends to open a truffle sauce production in the Moscow region, a representative of the enterprise told RIA Novosti.
"We will make a production that will be based somewhere in the Moscow region. The main ingredients will be supplied by Damar Tartufi. We will make affordable sauces," the company said on the sidelines of the Prodexpo exhibition.
The representative of the company added that Russians will be able to buy sauces from Serbian truffles in popular retail chains like Pyaterochka and Magnit.
"There will be olives from the Crimea, champignons grown on farms in the Moscow region, truffles from fraternal Serbia. We will mix it all and give the Russians a wonderful truffle sauce. We hope to be able to do this in 2024 or 2025. The working name will be "Slavic truffle", why not," he stressed.
According to a representative of the Serbian company, interest in truffles is growing in the Russian market. "About five years ago, Russians had an understanding about the truffle, that it was some kind of candy... In addition, there is a law that prohibits the import of Italian truffles. I assure you, the Balkan truffle is exactly the same. In 5 years, the market has come a long way, now every serious Russian restaurant has at least 3 dishes with truffle content on the menu," he said.
