The Representative of the University of Graz Leljak: "Sputnik V" Got into the Approved Vaccines by Mistake
OREANDA-NEWS. The University of Graz, Austria, mistakenly indicated the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine as permitted for admitting students vaccinated by it to classes, a representative of the university Gerhild Leljak told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the university said it would allow students vaccinated with non-EU vaccines, including Sputnik V, as well as China's Sinopharm and Sinovac, to attend classes. Later, the university removed the mention of the Russian vaccine from its website.
As the interlocutor of the agency clarified, Sputnik V does not appear in the list of those vaccines that are included in the current entry regulation in 2021 in connection with the coronavirus and are recognized in Austria as evidence of a low epidemiological risk.
“So this vaccine is not sufficient confirmation for the rule of « vaccinated, ill, tested». Unfortunately, we made a mistake in reviewing recognized vaccines, but we corrected it as soon as possible. Students who have been vaccinated with Sputnik V must provide the necessary evidence in another way, for example, by confirming their antibody status, "- said a representative of the university.
Studies at the University of Graz will begin on October 4, in connection with which the university has determined measures to ensure safe learning - it is necessary to provide proof of vaccination, a certificate of the patient who has recovered or a negative test, and wear an FFP2 mask.
