OREANDA-NEWS. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, said that not a single foreign company has so far refused to supply medicines to Russia. "Russia 24" says about it.

He clarified that the Russian pharmaceutical industry is not slowing down, there are no interruptions, and in the event of a cessation of supplies by foreign companies, Russia is able to establish its own production of the necessary drugs. There are no difficulties with the supply of substances for the production of pharmaceutical products, the main importers here are India and China, the minister added.

Earlier, the French pharmaceutical company Sanofi announced the cessation of expenses not related to life-saving drugs and vaccines in Russia and Belarus, we are talking about advertising expenses and the cessation of a new set of patients for clinical trials in both countries.

Prior to this, the pharmaceutical companies Pfizer, Lilly, AbbVie, Sanofi and MSD stopped clinical trials in the Russian Federation.

The decision was made in connection with the situation in Ukraine.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a military special operation in Ukraine in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

This decision was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies. Some companies announced the suspension of activities in the Russian Federation and the termination of investment projects.
