The Kremlin Commented on the Decision of the Czech Republic to Stop Studying the Documentation on "Sputnik V"
OREANDA-NEWS. The Kremlin believes that the decision of the Czech Republic to close the topic of studying the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 was made in favor of a provocative mood and not in the interests of the Czechs. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov, answering the question whether it is possible to link the decision of the Czech Republic to stop studying the vaccine with a diplomatic scandal, said: "Most likely, it is possible and even necessary. As you understand, such decisions, made in favor of a provocative mood, are, well, at least not in the interests of Chekhov. For after all, we are talking about the very world vaccine, which is generally recognized as the most effective. "
On April 29, the Prague State Institute for Drug Control (GIKL) stopped studying the documentation on the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, explaining this by the lack of a significant amount of necessary materials. Director of GIKL Irena Storova announced this to journalists on Thursday. According to her, the vaccine manufacturer has transferred only a small part of the documentation that is required in such cases.
The need to use "Sputnik V" in the Czech Republic has been repeatedly stated by the President of the Republic Milos Zeman. In turn, Prime Minister Andrei Babish agreed with the use of the Russian vaccine only after it was approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
