OREANDA-NEWS. The Orion drone is in the final stages of testing.  The Russian Defense Ministry may receive one such complex before the end of the year, said Nikolai Dolzhenkov, general designer of the Kronstadt group, on Thursday.

 Today, the possibility of equipping Orion with special ammunition such as a chemical fire extinguisher is being explored, which the drone will be able to dump on fires to localize them.

 “What is being prepared for delivery now is more an installation batch, but this is the first serial contract.  We are now starting work on the creation of a large-scale production on which it will be possible to build up to seven such complexes a year, ”the representative of Kronstadt noted.
