OREANDA-NEWS. Serial production and commercial sales of the Aurus Komendant SUV are scheduled to begin in 2022. This was in an interview with the newspaper Izvestia, published on Wednesday, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

The minister explained to the publication that the commercial sale of Aurus cars began in small volumes in 2019. At the same time, sales of the Senat model will begin in 2021, and Komendant will start in 2022. "There are not so many orders for the Arsenal minivan today, but if we feel that there is demand, then we will probably be able to mass-produce this model", Manturov added.

The minister said that the cars will initially be presented in 10 colors, including “latte macchiato”, “velvet ruby” and “red desert”, but later the palette can be expanded. Manturov added that the total number of orders for Aurus cars has already exceeded 600. In 2020, it is planned to produce about 200 cars.

Aurus is a Russian brand of executive cars. It was created as part of the project “Unified Modular Platform” (EMP, also known as “Tuple”), which since 2013 has been implementing the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “NAMI” by order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Special versions of Aurus cars are used in the FSO special-purpose garage for trips of the president and prime minister.
