OREANDA - NEWS. In accordance with the state armament program, over the next eight years, more than 180 warships and vessels to support new projects should join the Russian Navy.
It is known that this year alone, the Russian Navy will replenish a dozen units of marine equipment.Earlier, the country's chief naval commander, Admiral Vladimir Korolev, said that in 2019 the "King Vladimir" and "Kazan" nuclear submarines would be put into service. The construction of diesel - electric submarines of project 636.3 and the serial production of "Lada" - type submarines will continue.
However, it is not enough just to produce and test new equipment. It is important to worry in advance about the infrastructure for its operation. These issues are devoted to the draft program of development of berthing points of the Navy until 2030. "We are faced with the task of creating modern conditions for the parking and organization of all types of support for the newest nuclear missile submarines of the "Yasen" and "Borey" projects, multi - purpose frigates of the oceanic zone, ships equipped with long - range precision weapons, other ships and ships", - on board Shoigu.
According to the Minister of Defense, for this purpose, reconstruction of already existing and the creation of new delocation points has been started, in particular in the Republic of Dagestan (Kaspiysk), where the Caspian Flotilla is being transferred from Astrakhan.
At the meeting, Sergei Shoigu noted: the prepared project affects not only the reconstruction of the berthing front and the engineering infrastructure of the Navy, but also the optimization of the number of berths, which will significantly reduce the cost of their maintenance.
