OREANDA-NEWS. The Federation Council Committee on Agricultural Food Policy and Environmental Management has called on Coca-Cola and Pepsi to join the water labeling experiment. Copies of relevant letters to companies are available to the Russian media.

"Given the particular importance of the task of providing the population with quality packaged drinking water, the largest producers of these products, according to the committee, need to take part in the experiment", the letters say. The letters are addressed personally to the CEO of Coca Cola HBC Russia Alexandar Ruzhevich and the CEO of Pepsico in Russia Maxim Mikhailov.

Pepsico declined to comment, advising it to contact the Union of Soft Drinks and Mineral Water Producers, of which the company is a member.
