Russian dealers asked Renault to compensate 8.5 billion rubles

OREANDA-NEWS Russian car dealers appealed to Renault with a request to conclude an agreement on compensation for losses in the amount of 8.5 billion rubles due to the withdrawal of the brand from Russia, a corresponding letter was sent to the president of the French automaker Jean-Dominique Senard, the press service of the association "Russian Car Dealers" told.
"On May 2, 2023, a group of Russian Renault dealers sent a proposal to Renault France addressed to Renault President Jean-Dominique Senard to conclude an agreement to compensate Russian dealers for losses in the amount of 8.5 billion rubles incurred as a result of the withdrawal of the Renault brand from the Russian market," said Alexey Podschekoldin, President of ROAD, specifying that this is the second an attempt to come to an agreement on compensation in a pre-trial manner.
"The amount of the indicated compensation amount includes: the cost of purchasing / renting real estate for dealerships, the cost of internal and external reconstruction under Renault standards, purchases, staff training, loans received specifically for the development of the Renault dealer network, as well as lost profits: from the sale of new and used cars, costs associated with the lack of manufacturer support (warranty, consumer complaints about factory defects, etc.)," the association clarified.
