OREANDA-NEWS In June 2024, India brought imports of Russian ferrous metals (iron and steel) to $45.6 million. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Statistical Service of India.

Thus, the supply of these goods increased by 1.4 times when compared with the same period in 2023. In six months, this South Asian country has acquired more than $239 million worth of Russian ferrous metals. The figures for January-June 2023 were exceeded by almost a third.

It is known that in January-June of this year, Russia also increased diamond supplies to India. They grew by 22 percent. However, their value in monetary terms decreased by 15 percent, to $520 million.

At the same time, in six months, the supply of stainless steel from India to Russia fell by 66 percent, to 20 thousand tons.
