Russia Will Consider the Allocation of Export Credit at Nuclear Power Plants in Uzbekistan

OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian government is ready to consider the allocation of an export loan for the construction of Rosatom nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan. This was reported to journalists by First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government Sergey Prikhodko at a briefing on the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO countries with the participation of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The meeting will be held in Tashkent on November 1-2.
"As for the sources of financing, taking into account the significance of this project, the Russian government is ready to consider the issue of allocating a state export loan. Specific conditions will be discussed at the talks between the ministries of finance of Russia and Uzbekistan", he said.
Prikhodko emphasized that the nuclear power plant construction project is strategic for Russian-Uzbek relations and is under special control in the Russian government, including issues of contracting and financing. Preliminary estimates of the cost of nuclear power plants are available, and are subject to negotiations with Uzbek colleagues.
"The prices of such projects aren't publicized either before or after the conclusion of the contract", the first deputy head of the government apparatus of the Russian Federation emphasized.
