OREANDA-NEWS  Russia is thinking about localizing the production of Iranian cars. A representative of the official distributor of the Lucky Careancy company told about the possible assembly of Saipa brand cars, as quoted by Autonews.

The production of cars can be set up at the plant in Tatarstan — in February, representatives of the dealer and the Iranian company will fly to the republic to discuss localization issues. The distributor also announced an offer to cooperate with the Belarusian Unison plant.

At the end of December 2023, the Iranian automaker SAIPA received a special permit from the OTTS (approval of the type of vehicle), which will allow the company to sell cars in Russia. The company should have received the necessary certification earlier, but in the process of certifying machines, the company faced unexpected requirements, which is why the implementation was postponed.
