OREANDA-NEWS  PJSC "Aeroflot" and JSC "Science and Innovation" (the management company of the scientific division of the state corporation "Rosatom") signed a contract for the production of import-substituting air filters for ventilation systems in the cabins of foreign-made aircraft, Rosatom specialists have already proved the possibility of economically more efficient production of such devices, the press service of "Science and Innovation" reported.

"As part of the contract, for the first time in Russia, the companies implemented a joint project on import substitution of air filters for air supply and recirculation systems in the cabins of foreign-made aircraft. The production of filters according to the design solution of Aeroflot engineers was provided by experts of the Leipunsky Institute of Physics and Energy (FEI, Obninsk, Kaluga Region, part of the Rosatom scientific division)," the message says.

"Multi-stage tests of products manufactured by Rosatom have confirmed their full compliance with the required level of safety. The estimated resource of domestic filters exceeds the performance of foreign analogues by 20-25%, which makes them more cost-effective," the press release says.

It is noted that Rosatom plans to continue cooperation with Aeroflot in order to further expand the range of import-substituted components for foreign-made airliners.
