OREANDA-NEWS According to the results of the first eight months of 2024, the total output of new passenger cars in Russia increased by 47.2 percent compared to the same period in 2023. This is reported by Autostat with reference to data from the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

The ministry clarified that during the reporting period, a total of 442 thousand cars rolled off the assembly lines in the country. Over the past month, the output reached 51 thousand units, which turned out to be 5.2 percent more in annual terms.

As for the production of trucks, a total of 122 thousand similar vehicles were produced in Russia in January-August. The achieved result was 13 percent more compared to the same period in 2023. In August, 14,000 trucks rolled off the assembly lines (plus 4.9 percent year-on-year).

The production of passenger cars in Russia has been growing for several months. Thus, according to the results of the first seven months of 2024, the total output of such vehicles in the country jumped by 55.2 percent compared to the same period in 2023. During the second summer month, 23.6 percent more cars were produced in Russia than in July last year.
