PepsiCo Plans to Build a Plant for the Production of Snacks in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS PepsiCo Corporation intends to build a plant for the production of chips and crackers in Novosibirsk, said in in PepsiCo.
"The new enterprise will produce chips and crackers under the brands of Lay's, Cheetos and crunch And will become the third PepsiCo plant in Russia for the production of snacks,"the report said.
The agreement on the construction of the plant at the Russian investment forum in Sochi was signed by the General Director of investment development of the Novosibirsk region Alexander Zyryanov and President of PepsiCo in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, the Caucasus and Central Asia Neil Starrok.
The new plant will allow us to make logistics costs more efficient due to the localization of production and purchase raw materials from local suppliers. In addition, the project will create 900 jobs. Investment in the production of stark estimated at 10-12 billion rubles.
For the company, the new plant will become the second enterprise in the Novosibirsk region - "Siberian milk" is already working in the region. The new enterprise is planned to be built by 2021. The products of the new plant will be presented in the Siberian, Ural and far Eastern regions, as well as in neighboring countries.
The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) of Russia approved the petition of “Aqua invest” for the transaction on acquisition of 100% of Essentuksky plant of mineral waters. The decision on preliminary approval of the transaction is placed in the base of decisions of the regulator. The deal is not closed yet, a source familiar with the negotiations told RBC.
Essentuki plant is known as a producer of mineral water under the brand "Essentuki № 4" and "Essentuki № 17". Earlier, PepsiCo owned the plant in Essentuki.
