OREANDA-NEWS. Russia should be wary of the arrival of American Switchblade and Black Hornet drones in Ukraine, since the country has not yet developed similar weapons to fight the enemy, military observer Alexander Artamonov said. According to him, the "Black Hornet" (Black Hornet) weighs only 35 grams and is used to transmit intelligence, writes Pravda.Ru.
Weighs 35 grams. It can be on the belt in the folded state of any soldier. Capable of flying two kilometers while staying in the air for 20 minutes on battery power to provide intelligence to a soldier. This is very sad, because we don’t have anything like that,” Artamonov noted.
At the same time, the Switchblade drone has loitering ammunition, can interfere and go unnoticed by the enemy. He also talked about the heavy Hunter-class Valkyrie drone that has recently been launched in the US. Artamonov added that the Global Hawk, or RQ-4 Global Hawk, could also be added to the number of UAVs potentially dangerous for the Russian army.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine asked the United States for reconnaissance and strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) MQ-1C Gray Eagle with AGM-114 Hellfire missiles. The Ukrainian department expects a “positive result” in response to its request.
