Russia will Ban E-liquids and Tobacco Additives
OREANDA-NEWS. The government approved an action plan for the implementation of the anti-tobacco concept until 2035: among them is the elaboration of a ban on the use of e-liquids in Russia. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a relevant order.
In addition, a ban is being prepared on the use of flavors, dyes and addiction-enhancing additives in all nicotine-containing products. This will affect e-liquids. Liquid flavors in e-cigarettes damage the lungs.
Among 20 other measures - informing about the dangers of nicotine, the implementation of programs to improve the health of citizens. The authorities also intend to strengthen control over the observance of the ban on advertising of tobacco products, to strengthen the fight against illegal production and circulation of tobacco products.
According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization, Russia plans to produce only standard-sized and anonymized packages, and 75% of their area should be occupied by images of the effects of smoking.
It is also planned to ban the classification of tobacco products by the level of toxic substances. Any such products are hazardous to health, and underestimation of the hazard misleads consumers.
