OREANDA-NEWS. Japanese automakers on Monday began to resume operation of their factories in China, which were stopped due to the outbreak of a new coronavirus. This was reported by a Japanese news agency.

According to him, Toyota Motor has restarted enterprises in Changchun and Guangzhou. The manufacturer had previously planned to resume the work of its factories in China at the very beginning of February after the weekend on the occasion of the lunar New Year, then postponed until February 10, however, the situation in China in connection with the outbreak of coronavirus didn't improve, and the dates were rescheduled. Mazda, another Japanese concern, also launched a plant in Nanjing on Monday.

An outbreak of the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) was recorded in the large Chinese city of Wuhan at the end of December 2019. The World Health Organization recognized it as an emergency of international proportions, describing it as an epidemic with many foci.

Outside of China, cases of infection were detected in 25 countries, including Russia. According to the latest data, the number of virus victims in China exceeded 1.7 thousand, over 10.8 thousand recovered, and 70.5 thousand were infected.
