In Russia, the Production of Vodka, Brandy and Champagne has Sharply Decreased
OREANDA-NEWS. Alcohol production in Russia (excluding beer, beer drinks, cider, Poiret and mead) decreased in January-July by 2.3% in annual terms to 90.56 million decaliters (dal).
In July, alcohol production fell by 7.1% to 13.58 million decaliters, according to the National Union for the Protection of Consumer Rights.
The production of alcoholic beverages with a strength of more than 9% in January-July amounted to 52.54 million decaliters (+ 0.4% on an annualized basis), in July - 7.6 million decaliters (-7.5%).
Vodka production fell to 39.22 million decaliters (-3.9%), in July - to 5.73 million decaliters (-11.3%). Cognac was produced 4.13 million decaliters (- 3.9%), in July - 460 thousand decaliters (- 14.2%).
The output of wine products decreased in January-July by 11.2% to 31.72 million decaliters, in July - to 4.65 million decaliters (-16.9%).
The production of champagne and sparkling wines has fallen since the beginning of the year by 28.5% to 4.62 million decaliters. At the same time, in July, the output increased 1.8 times to 900 thousand decaliters.
Still wines produced 17.16 million decaliters (+ 2.6%), in July - 2.84 million decaliters (-3.2%).
The output of fruit (fruit) wines in January-July amounted to 6.21 million decaliters (-20.1%), in July - 600 thousand decaliters (-60%).
