OREANDA-NEWS. At the moment the price for 1 ton of the Russian coal fell to the minimum indicator in 47 dollars. Such reduction of price was not observed since 2016.

Taking into account delivery, the price appeared below cost which makes 50-55 dollars for ton. It means that the coal companies endure a loss.

According to data of the analyst of Argus Media Yury Onyshkiva, falling of coal price in the EU is caused by several reasons. First, in the European warehouses large supplies collected, and there was a surplus of this type of fuel. Besides, gas prices in the wholesale market reached a minimum in five years that stimulated gas generation.

Experts believe that partly it will be possible to compensate demand due to sale of coal to the countries of Asia.
