OREANDA-NEWS. A Russian private equity fund and Shenzhen Yuanxing Gene-tech have agreed to produce over 60 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine in China.

The RDIF said that the volume produced will provide more than 30 million people. The start of production of the Russian vaccine in China is scheduled for May.

The Sputnik V vaccine is currently registered in 57 countries, where more than 1.5 billion people live. The Sputnik V is 91.6 percent efficient.

The vaccine, in addition to Russia, is also produced in India. Last week, industrial production of Sputnik began in Belarus. It is planned to produce 500 thousand doses of the vaccine per month.

It is also possible that the production of "Sputnik V" can be started in Greece. The Greek government plans to launch the production of a vaccine against the COVID-19 coronavirus in the country. The authorities are choosing between a drug from Moderna and Russia's Sputnik V. Before acquiring a patent for a drug, Greece is in talks with vaccine developers. The Ta Nea newspaper reports that the construction of the biofactory will require between 100 and 200 million euros.

Earlier, the head of the Gamaleya Center, Alexander Gintsburg, said that Russia is able to scale up production of the Sputnik V vaccine in order to provide it to the whole world.
