OREANDA-NEWS. Rusatom Overseas said yesterday that Russian and Armenian nuclear power experts had held a workshop in Yerevan on 8 April for potential generating equipment suppliers to the program to extend the operating period of unit 2 of Armenia's sole nuclear power plant.
The seminar was attended by representatives of Russia's Power Machines and ELSIB, and Germany's Siemens AG, and General Electric of the USA. Russia and Armenia signed an agreement in December 2014 to cooperate on the extension of the unit, and in February 2015 they signed a Russian export credit agreement to finance the project. Four months later, Rusatom Service and CJSC Armenian NPP signed a contract for work on the project.
