DENSO Corporation (headquarters: Kariya, Aichi Prefecture; President: Koji Arima; hereinafter "DENSO") and Toyota Tsusho Corporation (headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; President: Jun Karube; hereinafter "Toyota Tsusho") have agreed to establish a joint venture in Bangkok, Thailand. The company, Toyota Tsusho DENSO Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., plans to develop software to support the improved development efficiency of engine electronic control units (ECUs), starting in July 2016.

In recent years, software development for engine ECUs has grown in scale in conjunction with the advancement of powertrain controls. Improving development efficiency has become a key issue for software developers. The new joint venture will use an integrated development model to perform all the required processes, from control development to design and validation. In addition, the joint venture will strive to standardize processes and raise the efficiency and speed of development to support the development of a wide range of ECUs.

The new company will be capitalized at 20 million baht (approximately ¥70 million). The DENSO Group will own a stake of 51%, while the Toyota Tsusho Group will own a stake of 49%.
