Sunoco to take WTI on West Texas Gulf line

OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2016. Sunoco Logistics' 300,000 b/d West Texas Gulf pipeline will accept West Texas Intermediate (WTI) in addition to typical West Texas Sour volumes under a trial program set to last from 1 May to 1 October, the company said today.

"Several shippers have contacted Sunoco and the other joint carriers to request" WTI movements on the pipeline from the Permian basin to its terminal at Nederland in far southeast Texas, the company said in a filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

Sunoco will make the change permanent if it determines running both grades does not cause "operational issues or disruptions."
