Two of three new Moscow subscribers choose Tele2
OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, provided 66.5% of net additions in Moscow in 4Q15, whereas all-Russia indictor totaled 46% for the company. That is according to the report published by AC&M Consulting.
As of 2015, the Tele2 subscriber base totaled 1.266 mn users, which is equivalent to 66.5% of all new additions in the region over 4Q15. According to AC&M Consulting, mobile operators have connected 1.9 mn new subscribers over the reported period. Thus, two of each three new subscribers in the city surrounding area were signing up for Tele2 services.
Tele2 launched operations in Moscow Region on 22 October 2015. On the first day of its work 20 thou people signed up for Tele2 services, after four days of operations their number increased up to 116 thou users. Successful entry of Tele2 onto the Moscow market is explained by affordable bundle tariffs, high-quality coverage, well developed distribution network and high-quality services. Having launched commercial operations in Moscow Region, Tele2 continues actively expanding network coverage and building up its retail network. Thus, Tele2 services are now available to over 90% of residents in Moscow and surrounding area, whereas the number of single-brand stores and counters exceeded 500 PoS.
A share of Tele2 net additions in Russian regions totaled 46% of overall number of new subscribers, AC&M Consulting has reported. The growth of this indicator is explained by massive launches of Tele2 brand in 22 new regions, most of which took place in 2Q and 3Q of 2015. Tele2 also started providing services in 3G and 4G standards. High-speed wireless Internet is now available to the operator’s subscribers in 61 regions of the country.
