OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2016. For its second event celebrating life’s big and small “firsts,” Bounty Paper Towels has teamed up with soon-to-be dog owner Jeff Mauro, host of Sandwich Kings on Food Network, to celebrate National Pet Day in Chicago. Bounty, with the help of Mauro, wants to remind everyone that Bounty is there to help new pet owners enjoy the memorable first moments with your pets and not worry about the mess.

Welcoming a new pet to the family is one of the messiest firsts you can experience. According to a survey conducted by Bounty and Wakefield Research, on average it takes Americans 8 minutes to forgive a new pet for making their first mess in the home. With 2 times more absorbent* Bounty, people can quickly tackle more pet messes per roll, from inevitable water bowl spills to muddy paw prints.

To help pet owners prepare for their first messy moments, Bounty and Mauro will be at Chicago’s Bucktown PetSmart (2665 N Elston Ave.) for the store’s Puppy Parenting 101 event on Monday, April 11, National Pet Day. During the event, attendees can visit the “Messy But Memorable” sessions, which will feature quick tips and tricks for feeding, potty-training, bathing, grooming and most importantly – clean-up. 4Paws4U4Ever, a family-run shelter that believes animals should be treated with kindness and love, will also be there to give attendees the opportunity to adopt a new furry friend.

“Bounty recognizes the importance of life’s firsts. Whether it’s a first birthday, first home, or first pet, these moments – while they seem to pass by quickly – make memories that last a lifetime,” said Victoria Schooler of P&G Family Care Communications. “That’s why Bounty wants to help people celebrate these memorable firsts without worrying about the messes that come with them. Bounty is more absorbent and lasts longer, which means you don’t need as much to tackle any mess – especially those that come with a new pet.”

In addition to the “Messy But Memorable” sessions, the Bounty Clean Crew will be on hand to distribute coupons and product samples, so new pet owners – and their homes – are stocked with the essentials to deal with their first pet messes.
