Jacobs Wins Patriot Excalibur Software and Systems Engineering Support Contract
OREANDA-NEWS. Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today it received a contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide Patriot Excalibur (PEX) software and systems engineering support. The contract is valued at $36.5 million over three years.
The PEX software enables the integration of various functional areas of a squadron organization, improves the ability to share information and enhances situational awareness across operations.
PEX is based on the Agile software development methodology, and the U.S. Air Force PEX solutions utilize cloud computing and mobile technologies.
Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is expected to provide expertise to help maintain the PEX software, deliver system engineering services and support field implementations to manage and track unit readiness of operations for more than 1,000 flying, non-flying and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) units. Services are to be delivered using development processes appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® Level 3.
