OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2016. UniCredit Bank took the first prize of the national competition of CSR projects "Corporate volunteering in Ukraine 2014-2015" in the "Health" nomination.

The bank was awarded, inter alia, for its "Gift matching Program 2014", whereby all employees of the bank could help children with epidermolysis bullosa. In three months the programme succeeded in raising UAH 26 773 for Debra-Ukraine centre. These funds were allocated for purchase of drugs for Debra-medkits. In March 2015 UniCredit Foundation doubled all the charity contributions made by the Ukrainian employees.

It must be noted that a great role in fundraising initiative was played by the "Fair of good deeds", the initiative within the initiative, that has spurred up the interest to Gift Matching Program 2014 and thus increased the total amount of funds raised. The Fair offered many handmade goods from UniCredit Bank employees alongside lots presented by the bank itself.

The fourth "Corporate volunteering in Ukraine 2014-2015" was initiated by East Europe Fund in partnership with UN Global Compact Partnership in Ukraine and Ukrainian Charitymakers Forum. The news partners of the event were delo.ua, kontrakty.ua and EBA. The jury, composed of UN Global Compact Partnership representatives, Ukrainian media and field experts, obtained near 20 applications from Ukrainian and international enterprises. The evaluation was performed according to the British methodology developed by Business in the Community, one of Europe’s leading experts in CSR and corporate volunteering.
