OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2016. Lincoln had a very good month in March, with U.S. sales up 11 percent versus the same time last year.  What’s more, Lincoln’s average transaction prices (ATPs) are up \\$2,100 over last year, which is almost four times the rate of growth in the overall luxury segment.

“We can all be very pleased with Lincoln’s performance,” said U.S. Sales Analyst Erich Merkle.  “Much of Lincoln’s growth is due to the success of the brand’s SUVs – the MKC, MKX and Navigator.  Lincoln SUV sales were up 28 percent in March and up 27 percent in the first quarter, marking Lincoln’s best SUV performance for March and for the first quarter in 15 years.”

Merkle said all the hard work being done to strengthen the Lincoln brand appears to be taking hold.

“We’re really starting to see momentum with the brand after all the work we’ve been doing over the last three years.  We’re seeing strong SUV sales and stronger ATPs.  That’s what we want to achieve with a luxury mark,” he said.  “We’ve got to keep that momentum going.  I’m looking forward to the launch of the MKZ and the all-new Continental later this year.  Next on deck, of course, will be the all-new Navigator, which we got a glimpse of at the New York Auto Show.”
