OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2016. President of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Askar Mamin visited Mangystau region, where he familiarized with the progress of several projects for the development of the region's transport infrastructure in the framework of the program "Nurly Zhol".

A. Mamin inspected the railway line Borzhakty-Ersai which length is about 15 kilometers and got acquainted with the construction of facilities at the site.

The new railway was put into temporary operation in June 2015, and it opened the movement in the direction of a ferry complex of Kuryk port which is under construction on the Caspian Sea.

From the station Ersai to Kuryk port also will be built railway line.

Ferry complex’s project capacity of 4 million. tons of cargo a year focused on handling grain, petroleum products, fertilizers, chemicals and other goods in neighboring Caspian states.

The large-scale ferry from the port of Kuryk and railway line Borzhakty - Ersai will provide multimodal transportation of general and liquid cargo, which will significantly increase the transit traffic, increase the export potential in a westerly direction through the Caspian Sea.

Commissioning of the ferry complex in the port of Kuryk is planned for December 2016.
