OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2016. In Nanjing (China, Jiangsu) on the initiative of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" was held a forum to attract foreign investors in the development of SEZ "Khorgos - Eastern Gate".

Forum focuses on implementation of the Agreement between the province of Jiangsu and KTZ to attract direct investments in the amount of 600 mln. US dollars. This agreement was signed during the visit of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to China in September 2015.

President of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Askar Mamin addressed a speech at forum where he stressed the importance of initiatives of Kazakhstan leaders and China's President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Xi Jinping on the implementation of the program "Nurly Zhol - Path to the Future" and the project "The economic belt of the Silk Road", which create optimal conditions for trade on the Eurasian continent with the obligatory development of transport on the joint transport-logistical system.

 "The uniqueness of SEZ is connected with many features to ensure the supply chains of delivery goods to Asia and Europe. Modern infrastructure, tax and customs preferences allow you to create new industries, especially for the market of the Eurasian Union with a population of about 180 million, and trade with China about US \\$ 110 billion US dollars" said A. Mamin.

Currently Dry Port SEZ is fully prepared and is already implementing multimodal and logistics operations with the further delivery of goods to the consumer countries of the Customs Union, Central and South Asia, Europe and the Gulf countries.

The construction of the basic infrastructure of SEZ  "Khorgos" is also completed, which should become multi-modal, trade and logistics hub and driver of infrastructure and economic development in the region.

According to the president of JSC "NC" Kazakhstan Temir Zholy","joint participation in projects of the SEZ will contribute to conjugation of the initiatives of new economic policy "Nurly Zhol" and "economic belt of the Silk Road" in enhancing the competitiveness of production, strengthen cooperation in the field of high-tech industry and the provision of production services".

Addressing the forum, the deputy governor of Jiangsu Province Zhang Lei expressed confidence that "the Chinese side will actively participate in the execution of the program of industrial co-operation between Kazakhstan and China on SEZ Khorgos-Eastern Gate".

Other speakers at forum included the Deputy General Director of JSC "Management Company SEZ" Khorgos - Eastern Gate" Hisham Bilmaashi, president of JSC" KTZ Express" Sanzhar Yelyubayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC" KaznexInvest "Almas Aydarov, director of the department for customs methodology of the Ministry of Finance Marat Beisenov.

The event was attended by representatives of about 150 Chinese companies.

During the forum, the president of JSC "NC" Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Askar Mamin met with the Governor of Jiangsu Province, Shi Tayfen, Mayor of People's Government of Xiang Lianyungang Syan Syuelon and several heads of leading Chinese companies. The sides discussed implementation of joint projects, the further development of the joint venture "Kazakhstan-China logistics company Lianyungang," the creation of logistic zone in SOC Lyunyungan, as well as the development of ICBC "Khorgos".

During the meeting, Governor of Jiangsu Province Shi Tayfen noted the interest of the Chinese side in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation and achievements of productive results in the implementation of projects for the development of SEZ "Khorgos - Eastern Gate".

Jiangsu Province is one of the leading economic regions in China, with high industrial and agricultural development. The gross regional product is \\$ 1 trillion 200 billion US dollars. The population of the province is 78.6 million people.
