A. Barry Rand Retires from Campbell’s Board of Directors
OREANDA-NEWS. Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) announced that A. Barry Rand has retired from the company’s Board of Directors.
Rand, 71, has served on the Board since 2005. During his time on the Campbell Board, Rand served on each of the Board’s four committees: Audit, Compensation and Organization, Finance and Corporate Development and Governance. At the time of his retirement, Rand was a member of the Audit and Governance Committees.
“Barry has been an invaluable member of the Board, and I want to thank him for his many contributions to Campbell over the years,” said Les Vinney, Chairman of the Board. “Barry brought incredible energy and wisdom to the Board’s discussions, and his insights were vital during a critical time in the Company’s history. We wish him and his family all the best going forward.”
Rand’s career spans five decades across numerous industries. He is the retired Chief Executive Officer of AARP, the nation’s largest nonprofit and advocacy organization. Before leading AARP, he was chairman of the board of Aspect Communications, chairman and CEO of Equitant, Inc., and chairman and CEO of Avis Group. Before joining Avis, Rand spent 30 years at Xerox Corporation, rising to the position of Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations. Rand is a member and immediate past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Howard University.
With Rand’s retirement, Campbell’s Board of Directors will consist of 12 members. Denise M. Morrison, President and Chief Executive Officer, is the only member of management who sits on the Board.
Rand’s retirement was previously disclosed in a Form 8-K filing on February 29, 2016.
