OREANDA-NEWS. April 1, 2016. The Microsoft Envision conference (April 4 – 6 in New Orleans) looks beyond the horizon and previews the shape of business and technology in the future. From business leaders such as PayPal’s president and CEO, Dan Schulman, to explorers such as NASA astronaut Scott Kelly, who recently returned from his historic record-breaking “Year in Space,” visionaries from all industries will be sharing their thoughts on where we are heading.

Equinix’s David Anderson, director of the Platform Partner Program, and Michael Lapidakis, Equinix Professional Services, will be among the thought leaders presenting at the conference. They will discuss how enterprises are transforming the data center using an Interconnection Oriented Architecture™ (IOA™) and present an example of an Equinix enterprise customer who is leveraging an IOA to deploy a hybrid, multi-cloud solution.

As we enter the digital economy’s “interconnected era,” where cloud dominates and enterprise business models are interdependent, the demands placed on connectivity have reached a new high. David will speak on how faster, more secure and richer forms of connectivity are producing a new wave of innovation based on interconnection. He will describe how a business can become an “interconnected enterprise” by leveraging an IOA, a proven and repeatable engagement model for directly and securely connecting people, locations, clouds and data.

He will also discuss how the Equinix Cloud Exchange deploys an IOA to provide private, high-performance connections to Microsoft ExpressRoute to access Microsoft Azure and Office 365 clouds. Enterprises looking to leverage Azure and Office 365 to move onsite applications such as virtual desktops to the cloud require the direct and secure connections the Cloud Exchange offers. And Equinix’s data center footprint (145 facilities spread over five continents) gives the Equinix customers who access Azure and Office 365 via ExpressRoute unparalleled scale and choice as they build hybrid cloud environments with enterprise-grade security and reliability.

After David speaks, Michael will discuss how important core hybrid cloud professional services are to an enterprise through its entire cloud journey – including accessing, enabling, migrating and optimizing applications in the cloud. He will illustrate these concepts using a real-world example of a global engineering and construction consulting company that uses a hybrid Azure and Office 365 multi-cloud solution to accelerate its application migration to the cloud.

The three Equinix speaking sessions, collectively titled “Transforming the Data Center with the Interconnection Oriented Architecture,” will be held on:
