OREANDA-NEWS. The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee, and Yegor Borisov, Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The cooperation between Gazprom and Yakutia is strategically important. The Company is actively developing the Yakutia gas production center in the region. Work is underway on the pre-development of the Chayandinskoye field and the construction of the Power of Siberia gas trunkline meant to supply gas to the Russian Far East and China via the eastern route. Both projects were noted to run on schedule. The priority facilities will be completed by late 2018, as planned.

The meeting addressed the wider engagement of Yakutian companies technically qualified for Gazprom's strategic projects to be implemented in Yakutia. A number of local companies are already performing operations related to the development of the Chayandinskoye field and the construction of Power of Siberia. Gazprom's subsidiaries also employ small and medium businesses. The Company plans to further develop such cooperation.

The parties also looked at the possibility of engaging the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in the geotechnical monitoring of the Chayandinskoye facilities.

Alexey Miller and Yegor Borisov paid special attention to the issues related to gasification and gas supply in the region. The relevant long-term program until 2026, drafted by Gazprom, is pending approval by the Government of the Republic. The document envisages, among other things, the construction of first gasification facilities in 2018–2019.
