OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2016. As Oleksii Pavlenko, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, reported, as of March 25th, the actual volume of grain export amounted to about 30 million tons.

According to the Minister, the volume of grain export comprised 3.3 million tons in February of current year, which sets the record index for this month (2.8 million tons were exported in February 2014). Moreover, in the current month, 2.7 million tons of grain have been exported. 

Among the crops, the export of wheat amounted to 12.6 million tons, the export of corn amounted to nearly 13 million tons, the export of barley – 4 million tons.

“At this point, 12 ships are being loaded, and the planned loading reaches 400 thousand tons”, Oleksii Pavlenko stressed.

“According to our estimates, the expected export volume this year will exceed 36 million tons and will set the record for our state”, the Minister stressed.

The price situation on the domestic grain market

At the present time, the prices of grain demand vary depending on the region: wheat of the 3rd class costs from 3600 to 4300 UAH/ton, fodder wheat of the 6th class – from 3250 to 4200 UAH/ton.

Currently, the prices for food and fodder wheat are as follows: wheat of the 3rd class – 3992 UAH/ton, fodder wheat – 3797 UAH/ton.

The average prices for barley are 3679 UAH/ton, corn – 3971 UAH/ton.
