OREANDA-NEWS. The Government endorsed the Action Plan to ensure the implementation of the trade part of the Association Agreement (AA) connected with applying the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) from 1 January 2016.

With its decree № 217-R "On amendments to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of September 17, 2014 № 847" the Government approved a detailed Action Plan to promote the implementation of Title IV "Trade and Trade-related Matters" of the Association Agreement for 2016-2019.

The blueprint contains objectives in the following areas: technical regulation, sanitary and phyto-sanitary issues, protection of intellectual property rights, government procurement, customs; and takes into account updated EU legislation since the negotiations on conclusion of the AA completed.

The document enables ministries, central and local executive authorities, and other state authorities to enact consistent and mutually agreed measures in order to facilitate the implementation of the Association Agreement regarding the establishment of the DCFTA between Ukraine and the EU, and stipulate for all available resources to ensure this process.

As a reminder, on 1 January 2016 Ukraine and the EU started the provisional application of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area which forms the economic part of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
