OREANDA-NEWS. Chevron Phillips Chemical reached a final investment decision to expand the low viscosity polyalphaolefins capacity at its Cedar Bayou, Texas, plant by 10,000 t/yr, or about 20pc.

Feedstocks for the PAO expansion will come from the company's recent 100,000 t/yr expansion of normal alphaolefins capacity at Cedar Bayou.

Construction will begin in April 2016 with completion expected by mid-2017.
