Volkswagen, Porsche recall nearly 1 million SUVs for pedal issues
The two subsidiaries of Volkswagen Group have issued voluntary recalls for two SUVs, the 2011-2016 Volkswagen Touareg and the 2011-2016 Porsche Cayenne. 391,000 Touaregs and 409,477 Cayennes are affected by this recall, which relates to the utes' pedal assemblies.
According to the automakers, a clip might become dislodged in the assembly, which could negatively affect pedal function. That's, obviously, not a great thing. "The problem was identified during internal inspections and remedied in production," Porsche said in its release. "This is a purely precautionary measure, as there have been no reports of accidents or injuries as a result of this concern."
As with every other recall, Porsche and Volkswagen will reach out to all affected owners directly, and the remedy will be free of charge.
