OREANDA-NEWS. "AVTOVAZ" Group increased in March the production of LADA Vesta at its plant in Izhevsk to 230 vehicles per day. According to the newspaper "Vedomosti", with reference to its sources, in January-February there were produced less by about 100 cars. It turns out, the production increased by almost two times.

AvtoVAZ spokesman confirmed an increase in the production of Vesta, but the figures were not disclosed. According to him, the plant in Izhevsk works five days a week in two shifts. For comparison: the cars at the main site in Togliatti since February are produced four days a week in two shifts - the plant was moved to part-time mode for six months.

Sales of Vesta (in Russia it costs 514-677 thousand Rub.) began in November of the last year. Current growth of production is associated with the demand for novelty, explains a representative of AvtoVAZ. According to the AEB, in January there were sold in Russia 1643 Vesta, in February - 2955 units, the car has become the second model LADA after Granta by popularity, sales of which were 6335 vehicles in February. In March, Vesta production can reach 5,000 units, says one source of "Vedomosti".

Now all produced Vesta are contracted and immediately go to dealers of AvtoVAZ, said the representative of the plant. By increasing the production, the company is trying to create a warehouse of Vesta, to support sales, says a source close to the company. According to him, usually the plant stocks of LADA models are 1-1.5-month of sales. He said that AvtoVAZ doesn’t have stock of another novelty that is sold since February, - LADA XRAY. But the stockpiling of Vesta is more important in view of the large sales volumes.

In 2016, AvtoVAZ plans to sell 60 thousand LADA Vesta cars, says a company spokesman. At the same time the design capacity of the line for the assembly of the car is exactly two times more - 120 thousand units per year, says one of the suppliers of AVTOVAZ.
